Mandatory Gear
If you’re taking part in the 63 km or 22 km race, you must carry the following items throughout the race.
- A personal cup
- A hooded waterproof jacket
- A first aid kit (e.g. plasters and antiseptic)
- Bottles or a hydration system with a total capacity of at least 1 litre
Please note:
- All items must be carried throughout the race. If you do not have all the required gear, you will be disqualified and cannot continue the race.
- Gear checks will not be conducted at registration.
What Do I Need?
These are basic items to help you stay safe on the trail and prepare for changing weather or minor injuries.
You don’t need anything complicated. For example, you can use empty plastic bottles or a hydration system, as long as the total capacity is at least 1 litre.
See the photos below for examples of suitable gear.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use a hydration system?
Yes. Any combination of bottles and a hydration system is fine, as long as the total capacity is at least 1 litre.
What kind of cup should I bring?
Any lightweight cup suitable for use at aid stations is fine. Some runners use an empty soft flask instead. Collapsible soft cups with a carabiner are also popular because they can be attached to a running vest or belt.
Do my bottles need to be full at the start?
No. You can start with empty bottles and refill them at Oguni Forest Park or at aid stations along the course.
