2.5km Race Report NEW

　A total of 229 participants (117 men and 112 women), including many students from Oguni Elementary School, took part in this year’s 2.5km Fun Run.　Despite the summer heat, runners of all ages—from young children to adults—completed the course with smiles and plenty of energy.
　Open to anyone aged three and above, the race is a favorite among families, and many local sports clubs also join the fun each year.

　At the start line, the front row was filled with children eager to race for the podium, while many younger runners stood alongside parents or guardians who would accompany them on the course.
　With so many excited participants setting off together, the start was lively, energetic, and delightfully chaotic!

　Before we knew it, the first runners were already back—just 10 minutes after the start!
　From exciting sprint finishes to heartwarming moments that brought smiles to everyone watching, this race perfectly captures the fun and welcoming spirit of Echigo Country Trail.

　After crossing the finish line, participants were treated to homemade curry and miso soup, lovingly prepared by local community volunteers.
　We hope everyone enjoyed this special taste of Oguni’s warm hospitality.
