A Look Back Through Our Race Brochures

The Echigo Country Trail (Echikan) began in 2016, and in 2027, we’ll celebrate our 10th official race!
Although two editions had to be canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Echikan has continued to grow thanks to the support of our runners, local community, and many dedicated volunteers.
It all began with a pre-event, the Trail Runners Cup Oguni, held on October 12, 2015. Join us as we look back at 12 years of Echikan, from that first event to today, through our race brochures over the years.

2015 | Before Echikan Began

This first event was held to introduce trail running to the local community and help more people discover the sport.

2016 | The First Step for Echikan

The pre-race gathering featured delicious homemade dishes prepared by local women from Oguni—a wonderful chance for runners and the community to get to know each other.
